Palm Sunday

The Lord Jesus Christ rode into Jerusalem on an ass’s colt on Palm Sunday in fulfilment of Zechariah 9 verse 9. It says, “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, your King comes unto you: He is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass”. As its Creator He was able to control it as it had not been broken in. This reminds me of Job 11 verse 12, “Man is born like a wild ass’s colt”. Here is an illustration of humanity being obstinate to God’s holy Law. By believing that Jesus died on the Cross for sinners we will want to be controlled by Him forever.

“The Gospel of Your grace my stubborn heart has won,

For God so loved the world, He gave His only Son.

That whosoever will believe, shall everlasting life receive”.
