Thorns

Thorn

It is that time of year to pick blackberries again. I have been picking them in my garden at the beginning of September. The same old problem with the thorns persists making it impossible to reach some of the blackberries.

Thorns remind me of three particular verses in the Bible:

(1) Genesis 3.17,18,”Cursed in the ground for your sake…thorns and thistles shall it bring forth to you”.

God cursed the ground because Adam and Eve sinned by eating of the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. Here we have the RUIN of  humanity  caused by sin.

(2) John  19.2, “The soldiers platted a crown of thorns and put it on His head”. The Lord Jesus Christ’s crucifixion was the REMEDY for sin.

(3) Isaiah 55.13, “Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off”. The curse mentioned in Genesis 3 will be removed during THE THOUSAND YEARS reign of Christ on earth. REGENERATION.
